The Round Lake Area Exchange Club is excited to announce that this month they are honoring two Hometown Heroes. Carole Shook, President, North Lake IEA/NEA Retired Teachers is a sponsor and her donation helps with the care package. The first is U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Daryl Malisiak of Round Lake.  He was registered for this honor by  his wife, Rebecca.
Malisiak and his wife live in Round Lake with their two year old daughter, Kinley. Originally from Mantua, OH, he graduated from Crestwood High School in 2006. He is currently serving as an Army Recruiter at the Round Lake Beach Recruiting Center. A few of the awards and honors Malisiak has earned are Combat Action Badge, Airborne Wings, two Army Achievement Medals and Iraqi Campaign Medal.
With the generous support of this month’s sponsor, Carole Shook, President, North Lake IEA/NEA Retired Teachers , Malisiak’s “Hanging with the Heroes” care package will be filled with a personalized “Hanging with the Heroes” t-shirt (donated by Artrageous of Hainesville), letters from Round Lake Area School District 116 students, a specially made rosary for the military from Legion of Mary from St. Joseph’s in Round Lake and gift cards for Wal Mart and Chipotle.The Round Lake Area Exchange Club will present a plaque to his family on Wednesday, July 23, at 7:30 a.m. Panera Bread in Round Lake Beach.
